We left home on Friday, September 16, 2022. We spent two nights at Canal Campground on Lake Barkley. On Saturday night my college roommate from our freshman year at Trinity University drove over from Franklin, TN and we had dinner at a place called Patti's 1800 Settlement.

Famous Blue Bonnet Cafe. We had lunch and picked up a couple of slices of pie for dinner. Susan picked Lemon Meringue and I picked out Pecan Pie
Our next destination was San Antonio, TX for five nights. Susan's older sister, Bobbe and her husband hosted a 70th Birthday Party for Susan and her twin sister, Sally. Three of Susan's nephews came, including her niece from Chico, CA, who surprised everyone. It was a fun time and the twins thoroughly enjoyed the evening. We met one of my college teammates/groomsman and the widow of another teammate in New Braunfels for lunch. We also had dinner with another teammate/roommate/groomsman and his wife at their home. It was nice catching up.
We spent a fun evening with The Mayo's Brian was my roommate, teammate, and groomsman in our wedding.

This home in Galveston was built in 1887. It is the home of Michael and Ashley Cordray, Their show Restoring Galveston is on Magnolia Network. They have been restoring older homes, many that survived the Great Storm of 1900.

We headed to Dallas and East Fork Park to visit my sister and Mother. We spent 2 nights and had a great visit.
Jimmie Davis State Park, LA
We drove through Jackson, MS and decided to take the Natchez Trace Parkway. We have driven "The Trace" a number of times and this was the way to enjoy a leisurely drive. However, the bridge over the Tennessee River was closed and the detour through Florence, AL added over an hour to our drive to Oliver Travel Trailers in Hohenwald, TN
While our trailer was getting some warranty repairs we visited Amber Falls Winery. We camped here a year ago (Harvest Host) when we traveled to Hohenwald to take a tour of their facilities and place our order for our travel trailer.
Our last 2 nights were at Natchez Trace State Park, east of Memphis, TN. We drove back into Memphis to visit Susan's brother Jerry on Saturday. This state park cut off about 2 hours on our way back to Indiana.
