2023 - Texas Travels with Jolli Olli

 

 

 2023 - Texas


We left home on February 17th and drove to Hohenwald, TN to drop off our trailer for warrnaty wqork and annual maintenance.  We then headed for Memphis to spend four days with Susan's brother, We had a fun visit in Memphis and Fiona and Jerry's dog Molly became fast friend's.  On Tuesday, February 21st we headed back to Hohenwald to pick up the trailer and camp in their campground overnight.  On Wednesday, February 22nd we drove from Hohenwald, TN to south of Jackson, MS and stayed at a Harvest Host, Patch of Heaven Farms in Raymond, MS.  The cows were out in the morning and we purchase some Southern Drop Biscuit Mix.  We headed into Texas and camped at Mill Creek COE, a campground we stayed at previously.  Most of our drive was back roads.

                                 What would a trip to Texas be without stopping for Whataburger?
Susan and her sister Bobbe.  We had lunch at their house in San Antonio, and then stopped to visit the wife of one of my closest friends who passed away 3-1/2 weeks earlier.

We paid a visit to Goose Island State Park to visit the Administrator for Oliver Facebook  Ruth was there to see the Whopping Cranes.  We brought lunch and had a nice visit.
We camped for 3 days at Choke Canyon State Park, south of San Antonio.  Our visitor to our campsite, a Javelina.  Fiona never looked up.


Mustang Island State Park just outside Corpus Christi, TX.  We spent five days here.  Beautiful campground.  We drove into Port Aransas and picked up fresh seafood to grill at Paul's Seafood Market and Susan took me to MacDaddy's Family Kitched for BBQ for my birthday.

            We took the car ferry from Aransas Pass to Port Aransas and headed for Galveston Island.
