We left Saturday afternoon and our first stop was our son's home in Sellersburg, IN. We camped in the driveway. Great chance to visit with our granddaughters and watch them play soccer on Sunday. Our son and daughter-in-law took us to dinner at their clubhouse.
Sunday afternoon we watched the girls play soccer and then we headed to Clifty Falls State Park near Madison, IN, on the Ohio River
Tunnel Falls
This tunnel was originally dug for the railroad, but was never finished. We have walked, or crouched down and gone through it. It was too muddy to enter this trip. The tunnel is also closed for a number of months due to Bat Migration
Historic Madison, IN This town, along the banks of the Ohio River is a wonderful place to stroll through town and the shops. The architecture is amazing.
Minton-Madison Bridge across the Ohio River to Kentucky
Clifty Falls
We left Clifty Falls State Park, crossing over the Minton-Madison Bridge into Kentucky, on our way to Hohenwald, TN We took state roads through small town to the south side of Louisville where we picked up I-65 through Nashville, TN.
Downtyown Nashville, TN Batman Tower (AT&T Tower) and Nissen Field, home of the Tennessee Titans
We crossed under the Natchez Trace Parkway, a drive we did in its entirety back in 2020. We turned around and hoped on for a short drive, so we could say we drove on it again.
We were headed to Hampshire, TN to Amber Falls Winery for a night, camping there as part of Harvest Host.
The next morning we headed to Hohenwald, TN and a tour of the Oliver Travel Trailer facility. The tour lasted a couple hours, and we were both very impressed.
From Hohenwald we headed toward Memphis, where we spent two days camped in Susan's brothers driveway. The weather was perfect and we spent most of the time visiting on the patio. Sarah and Molly have become fast friends after all of our Memphis visits.
This was a fun trip and we had great weather and visits with our son, daughter-in-law, granddaughters, and Susan's brother.
This has been a busy camping season. To date we have camped for 98 nights. We are debating whether to plug in a couple more nights to reach 100. Right now we are content with what 2021 has brought us.
Thanks for following along.
