2020 Colorado - Part Three

We left Crested Butte and headed for the Lake City, CO area.  Our next campground will not be mentioned.  It was a 12 mile drive in on a single lane shelf road.  The campsites were small and I had to unhook the trailer.  There was suppose to be some good trout fishing in a nearby stream, but due to the draught there was very little water.  We were supposed to spend 3 nights here, but as I was making breakfast the next day the ranger stopped by and said the campground was closing to allow a contractor to spray for Pine Beadles.  We finished breakfast, packed and headed into Lake City.

We found a small site on Lake San Cristobal that was free and spent the next two nights there.

  1. Fortunate to have so many beautiful deep blue sky days amidst fires a plenty!
